Age and Background should never be Hindrances to God's Work and Will

"Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years… He did what was pleasing in the Lord's sight and followed the example of his ancestor David. He did not turn away from doing what was right." 2 Kings 22:1-2

Josiah was eight years old when he became the king of Judah, and when he was sixteen, he gave his life to the Lord and led his people in a revival that changed the history of the nation.

There was nothing in his immediate family background that would ever lead you to conclude that he would lead a revival. He didn't have a line of preachers in his family. His grandfather was actually a murderer, the Adolf Hitler of the Old Testament; and his father, Amon, was no better! He was so wicked and vile that two years into his reign, his own servants assassinated him. God used a sixteen year old from this kind of a background to turn his nation around!

Here's a lesson: God can use people of any age and from any background in big ways if they're available and have a willing heart. Age is not the issue of being used by God.

Don't let your background put the brakes on how you think the Lord can use you. Josiah broke away from his past and didn't repeat the mistakes of the generations that preceded him. If you have a willing heart, God wants to use you!
